If you are like me and you like to know what’s playing on iTunes you can use GrowlTunes.
This application is on the Extras folder on the Growl (dmg) and shows you the song title, the artist, the artwork, the duration and it’s rating on a growl notification.
This is excellent but I’ve always thought that those headphones on the toolbar of the GrowlTunes app, were useless, for some good reasons like:
- I usually don´t rate my music
- To skip music I use the keyboard keys
- To quit iTunes I use ‘+Q’ letting the GrowlTunes open for the next time I open iTunes
So in order to hide the headphones icon on the toolbar, all you have to do is:
- Quit GrowlTunes.
- Open the terminal app.
- Type this command line:
defaults write com.growl.growltunes GrowlTunesWithoutMenu -bool YES - Now restart GrowlTunes.
